AIICO partners Philips Consulting on e-learning solution

Published by Guardian on Wed, 13 Jun 2012

AIICO Insurance Plc has partnered with Phillips Consulting Limited, an e-learning company, in implementing an enterprise-wide e-learning solution to support its capacity building efforts. The aim of the partnership, according to AIICO, was to boost the company's value on human capacity development. With the introduction of the new learning initiative, the company could proudly deploy training to all staff within the organisation, to meet their learning needs in a cost effective and seamless manner. The goal at AIICO is to adopt best practice in the area of learning and development by blending e- learning with class-room training as well as other forms of learning to create an in-depth learning culture throughout the organisation.'With e-learning AIICO can more readily enforce compliance requirements, which is accomplished through the strong personnel management capability provided by the core e-learning application, the Learning Management System (LMS),' AIICO said. The system ensures that the knowledge compliance of the workforce is audited, tracked and managed effectively enabling AIICO to adequately meet all regulatory learning requirements.AIICO will also be able to achieve consistency of training as a result of the deployment since the e-learning platform allows for consistent delivery of quality training to all employees regardless of physical location. Even employees in remote locations are provided for because they could utilise the mobile version of the LMS application to carry on with their learning without the need for internet connectivity.According to Deputy General Manager, Human Resources for AIICO, Mr. Phil Maduagwu, 'the need to standardise the quality of learning, introduce greater speed into the process and make it more flexible for the learner by providing training that can be tailored to be least disruptive to a firm's work schedules are some of the factors that prompted AIICO to implement the new learning initiative. The Management of AIICO is convinced that its efforts to maintain the company's leadership position in the industry, to improve the services provided to customers and enhance safer working environments for its people, cannot be achieved without increasing the knowledge and skill levels of all its dedicated and committed employees.'Speaking on the importance of e-Learning, Managing Consultant Compliance & e-Learning Division, Mr. Paul Ayim said 'e-Learning has over the years been a very strong complement of the traditional class-room training and organisations worldwide have found that the growing use of e-learning applications is improving the speed of learning/training and reducing employee down-time.
