CHIEF Coach of the Super Falcons, Kadiri Ikhana, says there is nothing to celebrate in Nigeria picking the African Women Championship, AWC's ticket because the country has always done that in every edition.Ikhana on Saturday led the Falcons to a 6-0 aggreagate routing of Zimbabwe but the coach says he is looking to make the Nigerian team world beaters.''I am happy we won but we have always been to the AWC. What we should be thinking of is how to improve the team and take it to the next level,. We have to ensure we rank among world's best,'' said Ikhana.Ikhana further explained that the win over Zimbabwe will not deceive him that all is well with the team.''We still have a long way to go and I am not losing focus,'' he said.Meanwhile, Chief coach of Zimbabwean women team, Rosemary Mugadza has praised the fairness of match officials of the game, giving kudos to the centre referee, Theresa Sagno from Guinea.''We have no reason to complain, the referee was very fair, we lost to a better team,'' she said after the match.Mugadza recalled that the last time Zimbabwe came to Nigeria, the Falcons mauled them 6-0.''Now we were beaten 4-0, we believe we have improved greatly and we shall continue to improve.''Meanwhile, MIGHTY Warriors of Zimbabwe striker, Ruvimbo Mutyavaviri has hailed the Super Falcons of Nigeria as the best in Africa following her team's demolition in their Africa Women's Championship qualifier on Saturday in Lagos.Mutyavaviri revealed that she is not disappointed her team bowed to the Nigerian ladies, claiming they are the undisputed giant of women football in Africa.'We were not disgraced because we lost to the best team in Africa. I feel happy because my team did not concede more than four goals which is still okay. It wasn't easy playing your girls because they were faster and aggressive,' said Mutyavaviri.Commenting on the Super Falcons' chances to defend the title they won last year, she opined that it will take a long time for other teams to catch up with Nigeria.'Yeah, I see them winning the trophy again because they have the best players in Africa. I want to wish them the best of luck and also advise them not to underrate any opponent,' Ruvimbo told Goal.com.It will be recalled that the Mighty Warriors of Zimbabwe have participated in three editions of this tournament and the last time Nigeria played Zimbabwe at this tourney, it ended 6-0 in favor of the Nigerian ladies.Meanwhile, THE Chairperson of the Nigeria Women League, Chief (Mrs) Dilichukwu Onyedinma has congratulated the senior women team The Super Falcons for qualifying for the next edition of the African Women Championship (AWC) holding in Equatorial Guinea later in the year.The NFF Board member said that the qualification of the Super Falcons has crowned the successes recorded by all the women teams in all their qualifying matches.'This is a dream come through. We have recorded the first hundred percent qualification since the inception of this administration.'It is all about God's favour on us, and the total support we received from the leadership of NFF and the entire Nigerians. We want to assure them that we won't rest on our oars until we achieve the ultimate in Azjebajan and Japan later in year by winning both trophies.We are also promising Nigerians that we would retain the Africa Women championship trophy later in the year," she said.She also congratulated the Super Eagles for qualifying for the next round of the 2013 Africa Nations Cup, while imploring all Nigerians to support the Head Coach of the team in his efforts to reposition the country's male football.
