Olusola Saraki hale and hearty- Kwara govt, aide, PDP

THE Kwara State government has doused the perceived anxiety over the health condition of political icon and Second Republic Senate Leader, Dr Olusola Saraki, saying the elder statesman is alive and kicking.The state and its people had been apprehensive since Monday, against the background of the widespread rumour that the 79-year-old frontline politician had passed on.Speaking with the Nigerian Tribune through telephone on Tuesday from the United States (US), the Special Adviser to Kwara State Governor on Media and Strategies, Raheem Adedoyin, a member of Saraki's political camp, allayed the the fear over the health status of the elder statesman.Adedoyin, who debunked the rumour, said the father of politics in Kwara State was not only alive, but also enjoying his vacation in the US.Also, Bamikole Omisore, media aide of Senator Bukola Saraki, the eldest son of the politician and former governor of the state, confirmed that the statesman is alive.One of the personal assistants to the political leader, Mr Lateef Okandeji, in a statement made available to newsmen in Ilorin, also debunked the death, saying that the political icon recently spoke with Kwara Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders on the forthcoming state House of Assembly rerun in Oloje and Alanamu wards of Ilorin North-West constituency.Also, the state branch of the PDP, in a statement by its publicity secretary, Alhaji Mas'ud Adebimpe, on Tuesday, debunked the rumour, saying 'Dr Saraki is hale and hearty.
