Oscar Ibru Donates N10M Hostel To Theology College

FOR Oscar Ibru, giving to the enhancement of the work of God is like a hobby and a trait inherited from his father, Olorogun Michael Ibru and he found a partner in Chief Ezekiel Ainabe who, 15 years ago, donated a Theology College to the Anglican Communion in Ekpoma, Edo State.Ibru demonstrated this penultimate week when a N10 million 80 space capacity hostel which he built for the college, was commissioned on the 11th graduation ceremony of the school.Ibru told The Guardian that as a personal friend to Ainabe, he was motivated to donate the hostel to the school because of the efforts of the management to put the school in the top league.'I saw what they were doing in the school and serious about it and I pray that God should continue to give us the strength to contribute to the growth of His work here on earth. I promised half of what I eventually gave because when I came here, I saw what my friend is doing here and what the management of the school is doing in running the school. I have to double what I earlier promised,' he said.To the graduating priests, Ibru urged them to live within their means and ensure that their call by God was not compromised. To the donor of the school, Ainabe, he said he was impressed with the way the school he donated 15 years ago has come to be nationally recognised.'I want to thank the Primate, Dean, Church of Nigeria, all the Archbishops and Bishops of the five groups of provinces for making use of the college. I am today happy that the forecast of the skeptics that the college will be taken over by rats, snakes and lizards has not come to pass. My joy knows no bound that the college trains priests and other church workers that are now all over the place.'It is important for me to let you know that the college will continue to receive my assistance. I will continue to use my connections to assist the college by bringing my friends to put up structures in the college as demonstrated by Otunba Oscar C.J. Ibru who has now become a friend and awardee of the college,' he added.Very senior leaders of The Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) including the Archbishop of the Bendel Province and Bishop of Esan Diocese, The Most Rev John Imaekhai; Bishop of the Diocese on the Coast, Rt Rev Ebunoluwa Ogunele; Bishop of Akoko-Edo, Edo Diocese; Rt Rev Jolly Oyekpen; his Etsako Missionary counterpart, Rt. Rev Jacob Bada and several others were present.
