5 men rape 14-year-old in Ekiti

THREE men are nowcooling their feet inpolice net at the headquarters of the Ekiti State police command in Ado-Ekiti, after they were arrested for raping a 14-year-old girl in the state.The gang, comprising five men, was said to have stormed the Samson Street home of the girl in Odo Ado, Ado-Ekiti Local Government Area of the state, last Thursday and, after robbing them of valuable, abducted the primary school pupil.It was said that the robbers had taken the girl to a nearby primary school in the area and raped her in turns, after which they abandoned her at the scene.However, men of the state police command arrested three of the suspects in the crime, with two of the gang members still at large.They were paraded before newsmen in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday, where the suspects admitted to committing the crime.Three of the suspects, Sunday Johnson, 17; Oladipupo Kayode, 24 and Jimoh Olorunsola, were said to have also confessed to the police during interrogation that they committed the crime.Johnson, who said he was an auto mechanic, added that he hailed from Okene in Kogi State, while the duo of Kayode, who said he was a commercial motorcyclist and musician and Jimoh, a bricklayer, were natives of Omuo-Ekiti, in Ekiti East Local Government Area of the state.The state Police Commissioner, Mr Sotonye Wakama, told newsmen that the police were on the trail of the leader of the gang, who the arrested suspects named Seye and one other, promising that they would be arrested soon.Wakama said two cutlasses, one knife and one DVD player were recovered from the suspects when their apartment was searched by men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad after the arrest.
