Kim Kardashian Made Millions Off Of That Video Game You Made Fun Of

Published by Huffington Post on Fri, 19 Feb 2016

While Yeezy tweets about being $53 million in debt, asking billionaires to bail him out, his wife Queen Kim Kardashian West is busy raking in millions. Kardashian has made major money off of many lucrative endorsements over the years (and, of course, "Keeping Up with the Kardashians"), but she's also made a TON of money off of her Glu Mobilevideo game, "Kim Kardashian: Hollywood."Even though the game itself is free, in-app purchases require some dough (that a lot of people are willing to shell out). CEO of Glu Mobile Niccolo de Masi said at the DICE Summit conference in Las Vegas Wednesday that the video game raked in more than $100 million in its first five quarters. It's also been downloaded an astounding 42 million times. After the game was released in the summer of 2014, analysts speculatedat the time that the free appwould earn close to $200 million in a year. TMZ sources estimated that Kardashian receives a 45 percent cut of profits, which would leave her with a hefty chunk of change to bail out her husband.Kardashian's younger sisters Kendall and Kylie Jennerlaunched their own free video gameon Wednesday. In the Glu Mobile game, appropriately called "Kendall & Kylie," the girls work as social and life coaches to basically ensure you look pretty and rise through the ranks to the A-list. So far, the game is doing really well. Still #1 with 5 stars now!!! pic.twitter.com/6vecuPM9wp Kylie Jenner (@KylieJenner) February 17, 2016 So who will launch their video game next' Our bet is on Caitlyn. The Huffington Post has reached out to Glu Mobile and will update this post accordingly. Also on HuffPost: -- This feed and its contents are the property of The Huffington Post, and use is subject to our terms.
