Traditional ruler appeals for repair of roads in Ase-Ijesa

A traditional ruler in Osun State, the Alase of Ase-Ijesha in Obokun Local Government Area of the state, Oba Gabriel Adeniyi, has appealed to the state government to help rehabilitate roads in Ase 'Ijesha community.He made this appeal in a chat with Community News.Oba Adeniyi explained that some roads in the community were in deplorable condition, urging the state government to come to their aid, so that, the community won't be cut away of the state .According to him, the road that leads to Asa-Ijesa Primary School, Matawin is the worst of . He maintained that other roads were equally bad and that the community cannot boast of any road that is in a good shape.Oba Adeniyi also wanted the state government to assist the community in ensuring that they ensure stable electricity supply by providing them with transformer which can boost the supply of electricity .'we cannot do it alone, government should come to our aid because it is a capital project.'The Alase of Ase Ijesa said the community was in need of ultra modern maternity centre and pipe borne water, explaining that residents of the community do trek far distance before they can get water to drink and maintained that , if pipe borne water was provided they would be relieved of the burden .He said in the past, the community had pipe borne water, but the water had ceased running due to neglect of the community, 'before, we had pipe borne water. The neglect of the community led us to the state we are now.'Speaking in the same vein, the Imam of Ifon Orolu, Alhaji Abdulkareem Ismeal, appealed to the state government to assist Odo-Oje community in finding solution to epileptic power supply in the community, stressing that the community has been without electricity supply for a long time and that has made hoodlums and armed robbers to turn the community to their hide out .'The community has become the abode of the men of the underworld,' he said.
