LG boss commends communities, CSDA partnership for development

The Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government, Mr Abodunrin Alatise, has commended the partnership between communities in the state and the Oyo State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA) towards bringing development to the disadvantaged communities in the state.Mr Alatise gave this commendation when a monitoring team inspecting the projects implemented in his council area called on him to know the level of support the local government would be rendering for the sustainability of the projects.The council boss, who admitted that it was a good thing that communities were coming up with projects on their own, with the CSDA supporting them, said it was only through this partnership that community projects can be sustained.'When the people know they own a project, and they contributed before putting up the facility, then they will manage it well, and I think this system of communal effort is commendable,' Mr Alatise said, while promising the local government would do everything in its power to support the beneficiary communities.The Koloko/Idi-Obi community in the local government successfully built a community health centre, as well as three boreholes, electricity and completed a road rehabilitation projects.While speaking on the projects, a community leader in the area, Mr Amos Olaniyan, said the community prioritised what they needed and had taken the first step before the CSDA came to assist them.At Idera-Oluwa community, boreholes, road rehabilitation and electricity projects had been completed, while the health centre is still under construction.At Egbeda Local Government, another health centre, the Ifesowapo Oloya CSDP Community Health Centre, had been completed, and this is serving residents of the area who used to travel long distances to access healthcare.There are also the Ifesowapo Oloya CSDP Community Primary School and the Community Primary School, Ogungbade, Kajorepo, which are also benefiting residents of the said areas.
