Kogi gov promises to compensate occupants of varsity premises

THE Kogi State governor, Captain Idris Wada, has said will pay compensation to private individuals living within the premises of the Federal University, Lokoja, temporary site to ensure smooth take off.Governor Wada gave the pledge when the Minister of Education, Professor Ruqqayatu Rufai Ahmed who was in the state to see the level of work done at the temporary site of the Federal University Lokoja, paid him a courtesy visit."I assured you that we will do everything possible to make sure that the university takes off as scheduled. The issue of compensation has been addressed to an advance stage, but the delay is on our side due to challenges in terms of cash flow. As soon as possible, we will make the necessary payment to make sure that the problem is removed from is issues challenging us from taking off," he saidHe said the priority of his administration was education, saying that the state government will do anything that will accelerate the take off of the university as it would benefit the people a lot.He, however, commended the minister for bringing back the lost glory in education, calling on private individuals to build more houses so as to easy hostel problem.
