Delta: Ugbuwangue community seeks new council

INDIGENES of Ugbuwangue community in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, have called on the community head, Dr Preston Egbe, to hold consultation with them in order to come out with an acceptable list of new executive to run the affairs of the town as directed by Ogiame Atuwatse II, the Olu of Warri.The people, led by Emily Okoromadu, protested to the residence of the Warri traditional ruler, saying that one of the sons of the community head has been preventing them from having discussion with his father by refusing them entery into his residence.They admonished their community head to enlist only those persons that are on ground and can feel the pulse of the people instead of nominating persons in the diaspora into the new executive, adding that such situation always give room for power hungry people to seize authority in the community.The Ugbuwangue community Ruling Council was dissolved two weeks ago at the residence of the Olu of Warri who ordered that a comprehensive list of new executive members be compiled and brought to him today (last Tuesday) after due consultation.They complained that since the order by the royal father, the community head has not held any meeting with them, rather he was alleged to be compiling his list based on the advice of his son who delights in preventing them from having consultation with him.
