Kudos for Jonathan on Abdullahi

Published by Tribune on Mon, 23 Jul 2012

THE President , African Youths Sports Federation,{ AFSOF} Dr. Ahmed Lawal, has applauded the decision of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to commit the Hon. Minister of Sports and Youths Development, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi , fully to the National Sports Commission .He said the decision had further demonstrated that Mr. President had been following closely events in the Sports sector and knows about the excellent jobs that the Minister has been doing.Dr. Lawal stated this at the weekend in Minna, Niger state during an interactive session with newsmen, adding that Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi is the right man for the job of repositioning sports administration for optimum growth."Indeed, Abdullahi has passed the test where many Sports Ministers before him had failed because he has refused to politicise the NFF/NSC conflicts. He sought political resolutions, got aggrieved persons to iron out the contending issues and was bold to apportion blames when there was the need to do so and we believe that the Minister will certainly go places,' said Dr. Lawal. The AFSOF President stressed that with the way Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi has gone about, resolving the crises and conflicts and misunderstandings in the nation's football arena alone shows that he has no alliance or affection but only wanted the best for the industry. He therefore congratulated the Minister and wishes him success in Sports development , while advising him to create conducive atmosphere for other sports to fully develop in followership and commercial viability.
