REGINA George did not stop smiling even when she did not qualify in her 400 metres event after returning a time of 51.35secs, but took it in good strides.'This is great. This is my first Olympics. I'm excited,' she said. 'I've conquered nervousness and things can only get better in my next. I'm going back to work harder. I promise that the next time I return, I'll be on the podium to receive a medal.'She ran her first heat in the Olympics as a green horn but discovered that the other girls were not made of steel. She added: 'I was praying to be among the qualifiers but I discovered that I could do better. I kicked and finished first in the race. I have learnt well in the Olympics. I will be back with a medal.
