Ise community lauds Ekiti govt, seeks amenities for NYSC camp

The people of Ise community in Ise/Orun Local Government Area of Ekiti State have commended the state government for the provision of facilities at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) permanent orientation camp located in the community.The community also commended the state government for the electricity, but called for its improvement as well as the provision of potable water for the people of the community.The Odole of Ise-Ekiti, Chief Joshua Falana, in an interview with Community News, at the NYSC permanent orientation camp in the community recently, said although, government was doing its best to help improve facilities at the camp, he said there was the need for more facilities.Chief Falana said the rise in the number of graduates mobilised for the mandatory one year national service had made the need for more facilities in the camp imperative.On the part of the people of the community, Chief Odole Ise said the indigenes and residents of the community were doing their bit in the quest to ensure that the NYSC camp and the community were safe for all the stakeholders."We work hard to protect the corps members and the NYSC staff members and also ensure their comfort as well as other visitors to Ise community, to the best of our ability.The community leader thanked the Ekiti State government and the NYSC for their efforts and urged them to do more in the area of provision of facilities in the camp.Chief Falana said "the camp needs more hostels, halls and, more importantly, there is serious need for the provision of electricity for the users of the camp.These amenities are important and there is need to improve them in the camp.On the amenities for the community, Chief Odole Ise said electricity in the community was relatively stable, but could be better."We must observe that the community enjoys electricity more than potable water. Put side by side, there is an absolute need for the provision of potable water for Ise community," Chief Falana stated.He said the state government could help the community out of the predicament, adding "if the government can solve the water problem for us, we will greatly appreciate it."
