Oyo Academicals team off to U.S.

THE Oyo State Academicals team left yesterday for the United States (U.S.) to represent Nigeria at the U-17 youth competition holding in South Carolina.The team's scheduled departure was sequel to the visa granted the members as Nigeria's representatives at the competition. The team comprises 18 players, who include Johnson Oluwaseun, Adegbola Temitope, Lawal Adesola, Ganiyu Saheed, Adebowale Yussuf and Mustapha Ademola.Others are Oladayo Akeem, Soliu Abduliahi, Badmus Kehinde, Adebayo Shile, Olubodun Joy, Adesina Naheem, Afolabi Michael, Babayode Timilehin, Uche Chinedu, Jimoh Muktar, Ayobami Isaac and Tokunbo Temitope, as well as five technical officials.The delegation will be led by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Dapo Lam-Adesina, alongside such other officials as the Chairman of Oyo State Sports Council, Temilola Adibi, Director of State Sports Council, Gboyega Makinde, Director of Sports Administration, State Ministry of Youth and Sports, Olubisi Adegoke, and a representative each from NASCOM and National Sports Commission.It will be recalled that Oyo State Academicals team qualified to represent Nigeria after winning the maiden Nigeria Academicals football final hosted in the state earlier this year.
