Women football not growing in Nigeria - Inneh queens coach

CHIEF Coach of Inneh Queens FC of Edo, Kenneth Aigbe has admitted that the women football league is not growing in Nigeria as expected.Coach Aigbe made this statement during the training session of his team in Benin-City saying that the rate at which women league is being run in the country is nothing to write home about.He suggested that drastic measure has to be taken to make the league more competitive and attractive.He noted that players needed lots of encouragements in order to be able to meet up with the standard obtainable across the world, adding that if the players were well catered for, something good will eventually come out of the league.'To be sincere, Nigeria women football league is not growing, not even in the whole of the African region when compared with what is obtainable in other parts of the world. Everybody can see the kind of skills exhibited by various countries at the 2012 London OlympicsGames soccer events.''If you watch the speed of play by other countries especially Europeans and Americans, one will know that their football is growing fast and better developed than ours, our women should be encouraged just as being done to men so that we can meet up the recent requiredstandard globally,' he noted.
