Rotaract Club donates to leprosy, motherless homes

The Zone M Rotaract Club which comprises Rotaract clubs in Ondo and Ekiti states, in its bid to fufill its aim and objective, has donated two bags of faily used clothes to Ago-Ireti Leprosy Home, as well as made donation of exercise books and other writing materials to the Motherless Home, Akure, Ondo State.While receiving the team, the House Master of the Ago-Ireti Leprosy Home thanked the members of the club for their kind gesture towards the underpreviledged members of the society. Some of the pupils of the Leprosy home who spoke with our correspondent, appealed to other members of the public not to neglect the physically challenged pupils.While commending the Zone M Rotaract club members, a corps member, Mr Afuye, who received the visitors at the Ondo State Motherless Home, Akure said; 'the Zone M Rotaract Club members have really done well by making life more meaningfull for the kids who, for one reason or the other, have lost their mothers. They are students, but yet, they are still making life meaningful for the motherless babies and other indigent children in the society. I therefore, encourage them not to relent, but to keep up the kind gesture,' he submitted.In a related development, prior to the visit to the leprosy home and the visit to the motherless babies home, the club held a 2-day training for officers of the club at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA).Declaring the training open, the Assistant District Rotaract Representative of Zone M (Ekiti and Ondo states), Rotaractor Oyewole Michael, charged rotaractors from the zone to make good use of the opportunity of the training. He said; 'learning is a continuous process, therefore, no person is an island of knowledge.'He also admonished them to be receptive and be open to learning during the training. Explaining the rationale behind the training of the officers of the club, Oyewole Michael said, ' it is an avenue for Rotaractors to converge and learn more about the ethos, ethics and ideals of the club. It is also, like a reminder and re-orientation of the sole purpose of the unique organisation and leadership generally.
