Ijesa North traditional rulers have reiterated their support to the government of Mr Rauf Aregbesola in order to move Osun State to greater heights. This was revealed by the President of Ijesa North Traditional Council, the Alademure of Obokun-Ijesaland, Oba Festus Kayode Alao Awogboro, recently during the first inaugural meeting of the council at his palace in Ibokun.Oba Adegboro stressed further, 'this meeting is the first one that we will hold since my appointment as the new President of Ijesa North Traditional Council, and this is done to give our total support to the government of the state.'The traditional ruler said further, 'this is done because the governor respects culture and tradition. He also put us, the royal fathers, at our rightful position in the society. We really appreciate this.'While appreciating the presentation of a Nissan Hilux bus by the Obokun Local Government Executive Secretary, Dr Gbenga Ogunleye, the traditional ruler said, 'this shows that the traditional rulers in the council area are highly recognised by the council boss, and this will go a long way in the history of the Ijesa North Traditional Council.'The Oba thereby called for support of the traditional rulers in Ijesa North hemisphere in order to move the communities forward. While speaking with Community News, the Obokun Council boss, Dr Gbenga Ogunleye, commended the efforts of the traditional rulers in the area for ensuring peace and tranquility among the residents of their various communities, saying the incumbent Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) led administration in the state would not relent in uplifting the status of every community leader.
