Adeola Faleye becomes Yeye Asa, Ila Orangun

MRS Adl Flye Adijat is a dramatist, composer, dancer, chanter, polyglot and a lecturer in the Department of Linguistics and African Languages, Obfmi Awlw University, Il-If.Mrs. Adl Flye will be installed as Yeye Asa of Ila-Orangun by Oba Wahab Kayode Oyedotun, bibire I, the Orangun of Ila.Aya Flye, as she is popularly called, is an indigene of l-rngn on both sides and of the family of Awgb ancestry in k d (a.k.a. Om Alr). She was born on October 10, 1968 in Il-If. She finished her elementary education at St. Peter's Anglican School, rm and attended If Girls' High School, Elyel, Il-If, Nigeria from 1982 to 1987 for her secondary education. She further went to Obfmi Awlw University, Il-If where she bagged a B.A. Degree Yorb with First Class Hons. in 1997. She proceeded to the premier University in Nigeria, University of Ibadan, for her M.A. (Yorb Literature) in 2005 and she is currently on her PhD from the same university.As a graduating student in B.A. Degree in Yorb in 1997, Adl Adijat obtained the following awards:' Faculty of Arts Prize-For the student with the best results in the Faculty- 1997/1998. ' Prof. Wnd Abmbl's Prize ' For the student with the best overall performance in B.A. Yorb Degree Examination '1997/1998. ' Chief Isaac O. Dln's Prize ' For the student with the best overall performance in Yorb Language '1997/1998. ' Chief J. F. Odnj's Prize ' For the student with the best result in Literature in Yorb ' 1997/1998.Other Academic and International Awards includes:' Emerging African Scholar Travel Grant Award winner of African Literature Association Annual Conference- 2008.' African Humanities Programme/American Council of Learnered Societies Fellow 2011/2012.Her training and certification as a journalist with specialisation in broadcasting and news reporting in 1993, Certificate in Yorb Oral Literature with distinctions in 1992 from OAU, If and Certificate in Dramatic Arts ' (Radio, Television and Film Technology Productions) in1991, OAU If, prepared her for her exceptional exploits in the world of theatre, public relations and chanting of various Yorb oral genres such as jl, s-egngn, Ekn-yw, Rr, dm and other Yorb oral genres.In one of the reviews on her stage performances for the celebration of Professor Wole Soyinka in 1994, The Guardian described her as one of best actresses of 'the Stars of Ik'' that perfectly played and interpreted the role of 'ylj' in Ik Olkn Esin, a play translated by Professor Aknwm sl. Also, following from her exploits in 2009, She is Olor Lp in Agogo-w of the Mainframe Productions and others. In the review of The Punch Newspapers by Akeem Lasisi she is referred to as the 'Alaga dr of Nigerian Universities' projecting into the very numerous and multi-talented nature and skills of management events by Aya Flye.In addition to her role as an oral performer, a dramatist and a composer of Yorb oral genres, Aya Flye has to her credit the following professional accomplishments:' Adl has actively participated in over 52 national and international stage productions and has starred in 15 traditional, modern home-video and celluloid works to date. Some of these productions were written and directed by doyens like Prof. Aknwm sl, Late Prof. Ol Rtimi, Prof. Femi sfisan, Dr. Ahmed Yerima of the National Troupe, Dr. Kl Oyw, Messr. Tnd Kln of the Mainframe Production outfit, Remdel Optimum Productions, Dr. Bayo Afolabi of Dramatic Arts Department in OAU to mention just a few. ' She has seven waxed CD albums: Tt Oba (2008), Igb Op (2009), Ariwo Ay (2010), E Ma t Yagba (2010), re Olore Odduw (2011), J K Gby P (2011) and bdn Om Ajrosn (2012).Prior to being employed as a university lecturer, Adl Flye was a Senior Editor (Yorb) University Press Plc, Jericho, bdn, Nigeria (2000 to 2003), her NYSC was at the National Institute for Nigerian Languages (NINLAN), Aba, Abia State, Nigeria, 1998. This budding scholar is widely travelled. She has attended and presented academic papers at many national and international conferences such as United States of America, Brazil, Ghana, Benin Republic, etc. She has co-published and co-edited academic bilingual books, translated and published works in English and Yorb languages, and she has written some recommended texts of WAEC and NECO creative writings. She is one of the multi-talented creatures who can code-switch easily from different dialects of the Yoruba-African language.Mrs. Adol A. Flye (a.k.a. Aya Flye) is married to Dr. Flye Oldnjoy, a native of w and the marriage is blessed with children.
