Tribune, a bridge builder 'FERMA chairmanEXECUTIVE Chairman, FederalRoad Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Mr Olajide Adeniji, has described the African Newspapers Nigeria (ANN) Plc, publisher of the Tribune titles as 'a bridge builder for the peace, stability and unity of the country,' saying that these were the dreams of its founder, Chief Obafemi Awolowo.Adeniji, in a congratulatory message issued and signed by his media assistant, Ekundayo Olatunde, a copy of which was made available to the Nigerian Tribune, on Tuesday, commended the board of directors of the company for appointing Messrs Edward Dickson, Debo Abdulai, Sina Oladeinde and Lasisi Olagunju as the Managing Director/Editor-In-Chief; Editor, Nigerian Tribune; Editor, Sunday Tribune and Editor, Saturday Tribune respectively.He said though the appointments were in acting capacities, 'I believe they will soon become substantive in their various appointments, due to their professional qualities.'The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, who extolled the virtues of the appointees, also described them as 'core professionals, workhalic, intelligent, humble, brilliant, fair minded, resourceful, industrious and truthful persons.'I strongly believe, given the professional sagacity and dexterity of the new heads of the newspapers, that they will use the wealth of their experiences to take the newspapers to enviable position among its peers in the industry, in line with the vision of Chief Awolowo.'While praying to God to give them the wisdom to pilot the affairs of the establishment, he said 'I want to congratulate you once again on these new feathers to your caps and I will like to advise you not to lose focus.'Saraki congratulates MD/EICBy Ruth OlurounbiTHE immediate pastgovernor of KwaraState, Senator Bukola Saraki, has joined other Nigerians to congratulate the former editor of the Nigerian Tribune, Mr Edward Dickon, on his appointment as the Managing Director/Editor-In-Chief (MD/EIC) of the African Newspaper of Nigeria (ANN) Plc, publisher of the Tribune titles.Senator Saraki, in a congratulatory letter he personally signed to the MD/EIC, said he had always been impressed with Mr Dickson's dedication and editorial skills.'You have done an excellent job and recognition of this kind is well deserved.
