A MAJOR stride towards stepping up Nigeria's real estate sector construction activities was recorded last week in Lagos, with the jump-starting of a fresh mixed-used, high-end signature development on a two-acre site in the heart of the Lagos exclusive business district.Messrs 2007 Global Realty Limited, a subsidiary of Landmark Victoria Development Company Limited (LVDC) and member of the Landmark Group of companies is building Landmark Towers. Located at Water Corporation Road, by Ligalli Ayorinde Street, Victoria Island Annex, it is a culmination of four years of intricate planning to create a world class facility, which will serve as a benchmark for future real estate developments by the Landmark Group.Already, Nahman Construction has been picked to pilot the project as main contractor while Diamond Bank Plc is financing bank. Projected to cost about $43 million, the project is expected to be completed in July 2014. The project team includes Nahman Construction Company Limited as Main Contractor, Majoroh Partnership as Project Architects, Kunoch Construction as Construction Advisors, WSP Costcare Associates as the project Cost Consultants.The Landmark Towers will be developed in line with company's 'Live-Work-Play' concept. The concept is fully embodied in the nine storey development, provides for Grade A office, residential, retail and leisure facilities, all under one secure roof. The project will boost of a combination of glass and marble curtain walling on facade, and high specification international standard finishing on interior.With a total built up area of approximately 13,500sqm, and external terrace areas measuring 2000sqm, the Landmark Towers will include ample underground parking, a raised ground floor offering convenience retail, six floors of office space, a penthouse floor offering short stay residential apartments, and a state of the art leisure centre with swimming, tennis and squash courts, gymnasium and spa facilities.The Chief executive Officer, Landmark Group, CEO of Landmark Group, Mr. Paul Onwuanibe said that the project is part of their goal in addressing the needs of growing international clientele in Lagos.
