ALOT of us, at some time or the other, have missed our way and made drastic mistakes at which point everything else went downhill. No matter how we try to put up a good image, once the foundation isn't right we can barely make it in life. Everyone has the opportunity to excel; if we want to have a good image and wield a healthy amount of influence, we have to get our focus and image right by dealing with whatever point we missed our way.It is easy enough to recognise and admit our shortcomings; it is more difficult to pick ourselves up. However, move forward we must, otherwise we are damned standing still. The last thing we want is to be tormented with regret ' regret for things we never did more than for the mistakes we made ' regret for the hurdles we never crossed, the projects we never embarked on, the time we never spent with the people dear to our heart, etc. However, for many of us there still is the opportunity of redeeming time.Set Your Gaze Straight Before YouDo not think so much about what people will say when it boils down to doing what you must. Always remember that at the end of the day you go to sleep with your own thoughts. It is always a pity when our thoughts condemn us. If you haven't decided to pick your self up, make that decision now. If you have made the decision to move onward stand by it. Do not change your mind for fear or for favour. Follow through after making your decision; whether it seems like life is conspiring for or against you. Often times are Achilles heel is in plane view to most people but invisible to us. One of the best ways of assessing one's self is to have an experienced and dependable mentor. It isn't easy to be self-aware especially when we are accustomed to our ways. More so, if we feel that a particular way of doing things is effective for us, research shows that we spend the rest of our lives validating it.It is therefore necessary that one seeks the assistance of one wiser and more experienced than one's self to help keep us in check. Now, this does not mean that you follow the path of another man, no. It means that you do not have to make the same mistakes others have and that with foresight and greater understanding, you are in a much better position to navigate the future and judge rightly concerning matters of your vision.Encourage YourselfLearn to encourage yourself. It is good to be encouraged by people; however, people will not and cannot be there for you all the time. We all have our moments when we find ourselves alone on the battlefield. If you learn to listen to the encouraging voice in your head ' however faint, you will have a greater chance of making it through the night. People who have an indomitable will are those who have cultivated the habit of encouraging themselves always.When The Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going.Nothing is impossible; we just need to change our perspective. The world will know greater success if more people view seeming impossibilities and difficulties as challenges. When you call something impossible you literally shut your mind to finding a way out of it. When you see difficulties as challenges you will approach each challenge with the belief that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Embrace your challenges; challenges make a man or woman. Challenges form character and teach perseverance ' 'Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything,' (James 1:4 NIV). Many people have great ideas, only those who persevere have their joy full! When one perseveres, one discovers that his or her potential is endless. We discover ourselves, our vision and succeed in opening new frontiers.
