HID bags Trinity House 2012 role model award

IMPRESSED by thesignificant roles of thechairman, board of directors, African Newspapers of Nigeria (ANN) Plc, Chief (Mrs) HID Awolowo, in nation building and promoting democratic ideals, the Trinity House, a non-denominational church established in 2010, has concluded plan to honour her with 2012 Female Leader and Role Model Award.In a letter signed by the Senior Pastor of Trinity House, Mr Ituah Ighodalo, the church said the 'objective of the award was to recognise those who have contributed to our national development and acknowledge them as role model for the present and future generation.'The statement read: 'On October 7, 2012, we are organising a special Honour Nigeria, to commemorate the 52nd anniversary of Nigeria Independence and also use it as an opportunity to celebrate Nigeria, pray for the future and honour a few well meaning Nigerians and Africans.'Describing the matriarch of the Awolowo dynasty as rallying point for democratic ideals, Trinity House said 'we are delighted to inform you that we will be honouring you with the prestigious Leader and Role Model award,' stressing that 'this is in recognition of your unifying efforts at nation building and national unity, inspiration to a lot of leaders and great service to Nigeria and Africa as a whole.
