Armed robbers attack NEMA crew, 1 killed

Armed robbers, onThursday, attacked a crew of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), which is providing rescue services and relief materials to victims of flood in Kogi and Edo states axis.The NEMA crew, led by the Director General, Mohammed Sani-Sidi, was attacked on Okene-Auchi Expressway.Newsmen were also part of the crew that was attacked.One person was reportedly killed.But, the person killed during the attack was not in the NEMA crew.The Head, Public Relations of NEMA, Yushau Shuaib, said the team was on its way from Kogi State to Fuga in Edo State when it was attacked.Yushau said it was a vigilance group that "rescued us after some shooting."He, however, said despite the incident, the visit to Fuga was still on course, adding that Sani-Sidi insisted there was no going back.
