Ajaokuta LG boss lists executed communal projects

AJAOKUTA Local Government Area of Kogi State in partnership with the state government and the Federal Government, is currently executing several laudable projects across all the communities in the local government area with direct bearing to the people.Such projects included building of clinics, provision of potable water, building of libraries, rehabilitation of several classrooms and provision of medical facilities among others to the people. The Liasion Officer 1 of the local government, Honourable Aloysius Okino, while speaking with Community News, said Adogo Water Plant that was long abandoned was receiving total overhauling and repair to meet the water needs of several communities cutting across 5 wards in the local government.According to him, the local government has provided borehole water to Uruvusechi communities, while the water plant at Badoko is currently under repairs for the use of the people in the area.Also, the electricity challenge being faced by the people of Ogigiri and Unosi, due to low capacity of the transformer, will soon be over as the local government has purchased a 500kva transformer to replace the old 200kva.Honourable Okino said he was making effort to electrify two communities in Geregu as he had commenced discussing with the community leaders and the contractor on how best the project can be carried out with cost efficiency and good job delivery. His words, "The frequent occurrence of oil pipeline vandalisation in the area has reduced drastically as stiff security measures were put in place to check this menace"To arrest the incessant occurence of armed robbery in the area, we have provided an 18 seater bus to the Joint Task Force for security surveillance and to fight armed robbery in the area" he said. When a major oil pollution of River Niger took place due to the vandalisation of oil pipeline, he said he took measure to curtail the situation.
