The installation of street lights in part of Arimokwu, Imudia and Abiamuwe streets, Agbor, by a philanthropist, Mr. Peter Idion, has been described as a way to keep criminals away from the neighbourhood at night. The commendation was made by Mr. Job Kiyem and Evangelist Steve-Young Obiazi, in Agbor, while reacting to the gesture. The proprietor of Prospect Academy in Agbor, Evangelist Obiazi said that Mr. Idion was a legendary philanthropic icon who, according to him, is passionately committed to the welfare of the poor in the society. While saying that Mr. Idion celebrated Christmas with staff and pupils of Prospect Academy where he gave the school a computer set, he noted that since the street light was installed, the area which, before now, was difficult to pass through as a result of the effect of gully erosion, has been brightened up by the street light for people to see clearly at night. The duo of Kiyem and Obiazi, who urged him (Mr. Idion) to sustain his philanthropic disposition to the poor in the society, however, urged other well placed individuals in the country to emulate him by contributing to the well being of the underprivileged.Mr. Idion who hails from Agbor, said his desire to contribute his quota to the development of the society, motivated his interest to install the street light, adding that he would continue to do his best in order to positively touch the life of people in the society.
