Flood: Community head seeks more assistance for victims in Edo

Clan head of South Uneme and Oliora of Anegbette, Alhaji G.Y.M Ugbodaga, has appealed to individuals and organisations to complement the efforts of Edo State government towards the provision of relief materials to victims of the recent flooding in some parts of the state.Alhaji Ugbodaga made the appeal during his visit to various centres where victims of the flood disaster were camped.The clan head, who addressed the people at one of the camps in Obe Primary School in Fugar, Etsako Central Local Government Area of the state, told them to continue to be peaceful and to love one another, assuring them that the government was committed to their welfare.Alhaji Ugbodaga lamented the damage the flood did to the affected communities.He, however, commended the state governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, for his prompt response to the plight of the people, with his visit to the affected communities and the flood victims at their various camps.Alhaji Ugbodagal also applauded Governor Oshiomhole for his prompt approval of N100 million for relief materials to the flood victims, as well as the authorities of Etsako Central Local Government and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) for coming to the aid of the people.He said more still needed to be done to alleviate the sufferings of the people.
