FTAN lauds Ajimobi's move on tourism development

The chairman, Federation of TourismAssociations of Nigeria, Oyo State Chapter,Prince Jide Sarayi has commended the recent disclosure of the Oyo state government on arrangement to enter into partnership with private sectors and organisations within and outside the state on tourism development.Sarayi said, 'The public-private partnership initiative on tourism would promote, sustain and bring rapid advancement, as well boost the revenue generation in Oyo state.'In a recent release to commemorate the 'World Tourism Day 2012' celebration, Prince Sarayi admonished all the stakeholders in the state to come together under the umbrella of FTAN to channeled the course of tourism promotion and development in Oyo state together, as two heads are better than one.Sarayi said further, 'For the incumbent state Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi to have recognized the impacts of promotion and propagation of tourism at the core of his administration's agenda, it is a good omen that deserved the unalloyed support and encouragement from all stakeholders to champion one of the primary objectives of FTAN in Oyo state'.For effective performance and proper coordination of the FTAN, Oyo state chapter, Prince Sarayi disclosed that arrangements are on advance stage as discussed and finalised with Mr. Adesina, Curator, National Museum of Unity, Ibadan for the opening of the chapter's office within the premises.'And for tourism to thrive in the state, all stakeholders must adhere to the stipulated standards and instructions of the apex tourism regulatory body, Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC), as the organization benefits and objectives could not be over-emphasised,' Sarayi said.
