Abere residents appeal for transformer

Residents of Abere community in Ede North Local Government area of Osun State have enjoined the state governor, Mr.Rauf Aregbesola, to provide them with a transformer to enable them to have access to electricity.The Alabere of Abere, Chief Karimu Sanusi, made the appeal while answering questions from reporters in his palace.Alabere noted that, "it is a pity that the community that houses the state secretariat has been in darkness for so long.'The poles had been erected with cables attached and it is only the transformer needed to provide electricity for the residents of the community."We have been hearing about the on-going rebrading exercise of the governor, Mr.Rauf Aregbesola, towards the development of the state, but we are appealing to him to give us a transformer in this ancient community as it will enable us to be part of the world in all ramifications," the traditional ruler said.Chief Sanusi, who described Abere as a peace- loving community and always in support of any government in power, stressed further that they were rejoicing when the state secretariat was brought to them, saying it was a pity that the community still lacked infrastructural facilities.Alabere said that, people were running away from the community due to lack of electricity, while the economic and social activities were poor in the area.
