Electoral Violence: NHRC Report Indicts Iwu, Uduaghan, 116 Others

The National Human Rights Commission has indicted a former Chairman of the Independent Electoral Commission, Prof. Maurice Iwu, former Governor of Delta State, Emmanuel Uduaghan and and about 116 others as part of those who violated electoral laws and committed fraud in the 2007 and 2011 elections respectively.In the report released yesterday by the commission, the commissions Executive Secretary, Professor Bem Angwe, listed some other individuals, government institutions, security agencies and their personnel involved in electoral scam.The Commission further stated that it will forward the names of all indicted persons to the office of the Attorney General of the Federation for prosecution.Other persons indicted by the reports are a former Governor of Edo State, Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor, a former Acting Governor of Kogi State, Clarence Obafemi, the Peoples Democratic Partys governorship candidate in the 2015 election in Benue State, Mr. Terhemen Tarzoor and a former Kebi South Senator, Maj.-Gen. Tanko Ayuba (rtd).Others are the Ekiti North Senator, Ayo Arise, former Ondo South Senator, Hosea Ehinlanwo, INEC and many of its officers, the PDP, the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, and the All Nigerian Peoples Party.
