Braun Strowman Says There Was 'Animosity' Surrounding WWE Push

Braun Strowman rose quickly through the ranks at WWE, which may have generated some resentment among his peers inside the WWE locker room.In an interview with Pro Wrestling Illustrated (h/t Jack Snodgrass of PopCulture.com), Strowman said he had to work to earn the respect of his fellow wrestlers:"Yeah, there was a little bit of animosity, I could tell.But, you know, this is a great place. It's a great company to work for. And I won everyone over because of how hard I worked, putting my body on the line and doing everything I can to get betterlistening, watching other matches, watching the whole entire show."WWE wasted little time making Strowman one of the top stars in the company. He debuted as a member of The Wyatt Family in August 2015, and he challenged for the Universal Championship two years later at SummerSlam 2017.While some wrestlers gifted golden opportunities have failed to justify WWE's confidence in their abilities, there's no question Strowman has made big strides in the ring. He and The Big Show put on an entertaining series of matches this year that highlighted how good he can be when he's allowed to showcase his strength and physicality.Strowman also took part in one of Raw's strongest segments from 2017, when he attacked Roman Reigns backstage and tipped over an ambulance with Reigns inside.Strowman is a lot like Reigns in that he doesn't call upon a diverse moveset but is a strong worker nonetheless because he excels at what he can do. The fact he's 6'8" and 385 pounds and still capable of jumping off the top rope is evidence of impressive athleticism as well.It's only a matter of time before Strowman is a world champion in WWE, and when it happens, it will be a deserved honor.
