IAAF Continental Cup: Okagbare leads Africa's onslaught in Morocco

Commonwealth Games sprint double medallist, Blessing Okagabre, leads other athletes from Africa to the IAAF Continental Cup which begins today in Marrakesh, Morocco.The two-day event is expected to welcome world's best athletes back to the venue where the 19th African Senior Athletics Championship (AAC) was held early last month.Okagbare, after a splendid performance at Glasgow 2014 where she won the gold in both the 100m and 200m as well as the 100m gold at Marrakesh 2014 AAC, had a dismal outing at the IAAF Diamond League in Brussels, Belgium, where she finished sixth in the 200m final with a time of 22.60 seconds.The Nigeria Golden Girl will no doubt put everything in place to redeem her image through the Continental Cup where she is expected to compete in 100m and 4x100m relay events.The continent will also be parading African sprint double champion Hua Wilfried Koffi of Cote d'Ivoire; Zambia's Kabange Mupopo; South African Ruan Devries; 400m African hurdles champion, Wenda Theron Nel, alongside Nigeria's Tosin Oke, Mark Jelks, Edwards Mozavous, Obinna Metu, Folasade Abugan and Dominique Duncan, among others.
