Igboho residents charged on peaceful coexistence

A call has gone tothe people ofOorelope Local Government Area of Oyo State, to give peace a chance for meaningful development to take place in the area.The Caretaker Chairman of the council, Honourable Samuel Odenibi made the appeal during the swearing-in ceremony of members of the caretaker committee held at the Legislative Chamber of the council recently.Honourable Odenibi stressted the need to eschew thuggery, hooliganism and bitterness against fellow human beings, praying to God to give the community the grace which he said was the ingredient of peaceful co-existence between two or more people.To the newly appointed members of the committee, the council boss charged them to prove their worth in matters of policy formulation, attestation and implementation and to constantly remember that they were called to fulfill a mission, serve the people as well as raise the level of their developent for the general good of all.According to him, 'as a public figure now, you are expected to rise above pettiness and narrow mindedness,' adding that for the sake of development, he charged them to chart a dynamic and revolutionary course for the council to achieve the desired goals and aspiration of creating more jobs for the teeming jobless youths and improving the appalling living condition of the people.He, therefore, solicited the full support of the generality of the people of the local government.Honourable Odenibi equally appealed to the career officers to remember their oath of appointment and support the present administration with their utmost loyalty.Responding on behalf of other members, the Secetary to the local government, (SELG), Hon. Lord Balogun Histowell, promised the council boss their utmost loyalty to justify the confidence reposed in them.
