Football wages: 'Constructive' talks but no decision over cuts after Premier League, EFL, PFA, LMA meeting

The Premier League, EFL, PFA and LMA have released a joint statement confirming that while no decision has yet been made regarding footballers' wages during the coronavirus pandemic, further talks are planned following a "constructive" meeting.With many clubs in England introducing salary reductions for non-playing staff and placing many on furlough leave under the UK government's coronavirus job retention scheme to cope with the significant financial challenges posed by the suspension of professional football, pressure has mounted on an agreement to be reached that would see players accept pay cuts.
