Madam Aviation, this is shameful! 'Air-conditioners at MMA not functioning

Honestly, it is shameful and a dent on the transformation programme of President Goodluck Jonathan to know that the air conditioning systems at the baggage floor at the arrival and even some departure lounges at Murtala Mohammed International Airport are not working!It is not a funny matter. It is a national embarrassment which cannot be mitigated by any excuse from the minister, Mrs Stella Oduah'Ogiemwonyi.It is serious because this is the first port of call by any traveller coming to Nigeria. It is said, first impression lasts longer.I listened to the complaints of many passengers who arrived Nigeria from the UK on Arik Air morning flight last Thursday.Their remarks were not complimentary at all.One was very loud on why should President Jonathan make a lady who only knows about oil business the Minister of Aviation.The other responded that 'It does not matter. At least Kema Chikwe was not an aviation expert and yet performed well.'The other person was very personal. She said. We thought she was coming here to make changes. Despite all her noise, we have to resort to the use of newspapers as fans here,the first port of call by any visitor to this country, this is shameful.'The other lady jeered: She does not need that post. Can't you see, the condition of the Abuja local airport. Are you not ashamed''All my efforts at telling them about time, processes and procedures of awarding contract for repairs did not change their views.'If she is competently aggressive, she would have packed her intention and sent an SOS to the president about the air-conditioning system. I know the president, he would have approved contingency fund for it. 'This place is hot my brother,' another passenger interjected.The last person threw a poser: 'I hope Professor Sylvester Monye, the Special Adviser to the President on Monitoring, Evaluation and Assessments, is taking note of the ministerswho have not lived up to expectation in the last three months'' 'If people like us can understand the intricacies involved in the award of contracts, not many people would.
