THE 21st edition of the Quadrangular Games involving the Ikoyi Club 1938, Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, Apapa Club and the hosts, Lagos Country Club, has received the endorsement of UAC of Nigeria Plc, the organisers have announced.The Quadrangular Games, which will run from November 25 to December 4, is an annual tournament involving the four foremost family clubs in Lagos, who gather in one venue to fight for honours in different sporting activities.UACN, which is coming in as Gold sponsor of the 10-day games, is again demonstrating its commitment to the growth of recreational sports and family bonding in Nigeria. Last weekend, the company bankrolled for the second successive year the UAC Trophy Race, a sailing competition organised by the Lagos Yacht Club to encourage the growth of the sport in Nigeria.Announcing the UACN sponsorship, the Chairman, Planning Committee of the games, Akin Soyoye, revealed that other companies have identified with the championship and would be offered all the benefits accruable to their categories.As Gold sponsor, UACN is entitled to venue branding and branding of major facilities within the host club premises.These include the courts for tennis, squash, basketball and badminton as well as the Table Tennis hall and the swimming pool side.The Gold sponsor will also have as benefits product trials and sampling, players tagging and direct marketing opportunities.Soyoye said arrangement had been concluded for the games, and urged other brands to take advantage of the fantastic marketing benefits to be derived from interacting with the over 4,000 visitors to the host club every day of the championship.The championship involves several games, including Tennis, Swimming, Badminton, Snooker, Table Tennis, Chess, Taekwondo and Dart.
