However, that can be hard when you're used to receiving emails, text messages, and social media notifications all day. </p><p>Unfortunately there isn't an easy "off" switch you can flip to disable the notifications on all your devices. Whether it be your smartphone or computer, every device has its own way to disable notifications.</p><p>Luckily, disabling notifications on your phone, computer, and web browser isn't hard, although it may take some time. Here's how to do it. </p><h2><strong>How to turn off notifications on your iPhone, iPad, and Android device</strong></h2><h3><strong>On an iPhone</strong></h3><p>There are a few different ways to turn off or restrict notifications on an iPhone. </p><p>The easiest way to silence notifications is by <strong>putting your device in </strong><a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/do-not-disturb-on-iphone-how-to-use" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>"Do Not Disturb" mode</strong></a>. This will mute all incoming notifications, including phone calls. You'll still receive messages and emails, but they'll be stored quietly in your Notification Center.</p><p><strong>1. </strong>Open the Control Center and tap the icon that looks like a crescent moon. This will turn on Do Not Disturb until you tap it again.</p><aside class="quick-tip headline-regular"><p><strong>Quick tip:</strong> You can open the Control Center on an iPhone X or later by swiping down from the top-right corner of your screen. On an older model, swipe up from the bottom center of the screen.</p></aside><p><strong><img src="https://static4.businessinsider.com/image/60300a0e623bd30012bcc41c-828/notifications iphone 1.png" border="0" alt="notifications iphone 1" data-mce-source="William Antonelli/Business Insider" data-mce-caption="You can turn on Do Not Disturb from the Control Center."></strong></p><p><strong>2. </strong>If you press and hold your finger on the icon, you can turn on Do Not Disturb temporarily.</p><p><img src="https://static5.businessinsider.com/image/60300a4e623bd30012bcc41e-828/notifications iphone 2.PNG" border="0" alt="notifications iphone 2.PNG" data-mce-source="William Antonelli/Business Insider" data-mce-caption="You can set up Do Not Disturb temporarily, or based on location."></p><p><strong>3. </strong>You can also tap "Schedule" at the bottom of this menu to set up a recurring schedule for Do Not Disturb mode. This is great if you want to mute notifications at a certain time each day.</p><p><img src="https://static2.businessinsider.com/image/60300a7cbed5c50011a2b9e9-828/notifications iphone 3.png" border="0" alt="notifications iphone 3" data-mce-source="William Antonelli/Business Insider" data-mce-caption="Do Not Disturb has its own settings menu."></p><p>The best way to manage your iPhone's notifications for the long term is <strong>by customizing which apps send notifications</strong>.</p><p><strong>1. </strong>Open the Settings app and tap "Notifications."</p><p><strong>2. </strong>You'll be shown all your apps.
