5 Aspirants Boycott APC Primaries In SGFs LG Over Delegates List

Five out of eight local government chairmanship aspirants under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Hong local government area of Adamawa State have boycotted the rescheduled party primaries over alleged mutilation of delegates list. Hong is the home town of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Engr. Babachir David Lawal.The APC local government primaries in the state was conducted last Saturday but that of Hong was declared inconclusive following massive irregularities that trailed its conduct as reports indicated that some of the aspirants were held hostage by sponsored thugs while the election was going on.Briefing newsmen in Yola, the five aggrieved aspirants said their decision to boycott the election followed attempts by some influencial politicians within the APC to foist their preferred candidate, Aliyu Lala on the party despite massive opposition against such move.The spokesman of the group who was also a former chairman of Hong local government, Ahmed Isa Yerima said names of substantive delegates were removed and replaced with loyalists of the said influential politicians with the purpose of swaying the results.Yerima noted that the tension generated by the desperation to foist Lala has prompted the Adamawa State commissioner of police, Mohammad Ghazali to wade into the crisis resulting in the cancellation of the Saturdays polls.The post 5 Aspirants Boycott APC Primaries In SGFs LG Over Delegates List appeared first on Nigerian News from Leadership News.
