Alaafin installs new Alapinni

The newly installed Alapini ofOyo, a member of the Alaafin traditional cabinet, the Oyomesi, High Chief Ibrahim Oladeji, has promised to abide by the constitution of the traditional council and be loyal to the Alaafin.He was speaking before a crowd who had come to witness his coronation inside the Palace of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, at the weekend.Oladeji said he would uphold the traditional norms of Oyo and walk hand- in hand with the Alaafin and other members of the Oyomesi to move Oyo town forward.He said, 'my door is open to everyone with useful advice and ideas that will help me succeed and bring development to my domain.'He thanked the Alaafin for installing him as the new Alapini despite the myrid of criticisms from a few people within the town who did not want him.
