Insecurity: Reps stall moves to withdraw Customs from Maiduguri

Moves to withdraw men of the Nigerian Customs Service who are currently part of the Joint Military Task Force carrying out house-to-house arms mop-up and security checks from Maiduguri, Borno State, yesterday met serious opposition on the floor of the House of Representatives.The House gave security tension caused by insurgency of Boko Haram members in Borno and Yobe states as reason for the step, and described the region as a war zone where it would not frustrate government's efforts at restoring peace.
