Kwara govt gives N5m relief materials to disaster victims

The Kwara State government has distributed relief materials worth N5 million to disaster victims in the state.The materials which included roofing sheets, planks, nails, asbestos, mattresses, were presented to more than 160 people across the state for various degrees of disasters.Presenting the materials to the affected victims, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Relief Services, Alhaji Musa Abdullahi, said the gesture was to cushion the effect on the victims.The Special Adviser called on the people to join hand with the state government in its effort to assist the victims because government alone could not do it.He reiterated government commitment to the provision of necessary infrastructure in order to make life more meaningful to the people.Abdullahi appealed to the people to desist from any acts that would cause re-occurrence of natural disasters like flood and fire incidence in the state.He added that with harmattan season around the corner, the people of the state should prevent what could lead to tragedy in their environment.Responding on behalf of other beneficiaries, Malam Yinusa Ayinde thanked the State Government for coming to their aid.He promised the unalloyed support of the beneficiaries to the government at all times.
