NICAF, Banks, APCON, Lead Capital, Bemil Others Mourn Alex

SIX days after the demise of the business mogul Dr. Alex Ibru individuals, government agencies and corporate organisations across the country have continued to extol his virtues.Nigeria-China Friendship Association (NICAF), Zenith Bank Plc, Intercontinental Bank Plc, Lead Capital, Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria {APCON}, Akwa Ibom State Tourism Board, Custodian and Allied Insurance Plc and Bemil Nigeria Limited were among corporate bodies that have mourned the late Alex.In a letter signed by the Founder and Chairman of NICAF, Ambassador V.N. Chibundu, the organization expressed deep sorrow and sympathy for the passing away of Alex.NICAF said Ibru left a good and enviable legacy behind for which his memory will justifiably linger in the country and abroad.Zenith Bank, in its own letter signed by the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Godwin Emefiele, described the deceased as a great philanthropist whose accomplishment in the field of journalism will remain indelible in the minds of Nigerians.According to Emefiele, the milestone achieved by this rare gem demonstrates a history of unparalleled success and an inspiration to not only future generation of journalists but also across a broad spectrum of endeavours.Intercontinental Bank said: ' While admitting that his demise, which will surely leave a big vacuum, is a colossal loss to our great nation, we take solace in the exemplary life he lived. His philanthropic gestures, outstanding entrepreneurship and humanistic contributions to the development of the mass media industry in Nigeria clearly stood him out as a man of many parts.'To APCON, the late Ibru was by any consideration, a great and outstanding Nigerian, who devoted himself to selfless service to the nation even at great danger to his life and family.On its part, Akwa Ibom State Tourism Board described Alex Ibru as a successful entrepreneur and a patriotic Nigerian who, as a publisher, did not use his organisation to promote his interest but used it in serving the humanity.Lead Capital, Custodian and Allied Insurance PLC and BEMIL Nigeria Limited also expressed their sincere condolence and prayed God to comfort and give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.Lead Capital in a letter signed by its chief Executive Officer Abimbola Olashore, said it cherished the legacy of truthfulness, good conscience and integrity that Alex stood for and which is reflected in The Guardian.
