Atiba LG boss tasks students on performance

THE Chairman,Careataker Committee of Atiba Local Government, Oyo State, Prince Akeem Adeniyi Adeyemi, has admonished students in the council area preparing for 2012 WAEC and NECO examinations to strife hard in their studies so as to perform well.A statement by the council's deputy Director of Education and social services, Mrs I.O. Olatunde, said the this admonition was made by the council boss during the launching of 'Governor Abiola Ajimobi Remedial programme,' Atiba Local Government chapter, at Alaafin High School, Agunpopo, Oyo, recently.Prince Adeyemi said 'it is common knowledge that only qualitative education can chart a career course for our children as education is the only legacy that any nation can bequeath to its younger generation'.He stressed further that the governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, had organized the programme for final year and external candidates to improve the falling standard of education in the state which manifested in WAEC and NECO results in the past years.He then enjoined parents/guardians to release their wards for the remedial classes and the programme is free with qualified and experienced teachers to teach the students.He then distributed exercise note books and writing materials for the participating students.Among dignataries present at the occasion were the Local Inspector of Education, Atiba Local Government, Mr. Olayinka Akanji, the Director of Personnel Management, Alhaji H.A. Muili, Director of Finance and Supplies, Deacon Tunji Majaro, school principals, Director of Education and Social Services, Alhaja N.B. Adelabu, political functionaries and ACN stalwarts.
