Supreme Court Verdict: 'No Victor, No Vanquished', Says Suswam

GOVERNOR Gabriel Suswam of Benue State has described his last Friday's victory at the Supreme Court against Prof. Steve Ugbah of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) as a 'no victor, no vanquished' scenario.Suswam, who spoke with journalists at Government House, Makurdi, while reacting to the judgment of the apex court, called on his opponents to join hands with him to move the state forward, saying the victory is not only for him or his deputy, Chief Steven Lawani, or the PDP, but for all sons and daughters of the state.'I want to implore my opponents to bring their ideas together so that we can, together, make a difference in the life of our people. Let us put the election behind as stated in the judgment and engage ourselves in governance,' Suswam said.The governor noted that the long battle over the election was wastage of valuable time that could have been used to positively impact on people of the state.He pledged that he would concentrate on wealth creation and poverty reduction in the remaining three years of his administration.According to Suswam, the journey to this ambition has begun in the agricultural sector with the disbursement of N1b to commercial farmers. He also gave assurance that a disbursement of another N2b would follow soon.
