THE on-going Female Federation Cup is living up to expectations as defending champions Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt and seven other clubs have progressed to the quarter final stage of the competition which will be decided tomorrow Tuesday September 4, 2012.The quarter final fixtures indicated that Rivers Angels will trade tackles with Adamawa Queens at U.J Esuene Stadium, Calabar, while Sunshine Queens of Akure will lock horns against Osun Babes of Oshogbo at the Area III Stadium, Abuja. In other fixtures slated for tomorrow, Ibom Angels of Uyo will engage former league champions, Pelicans Stars of Calabar at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, while FC Robo of Lagos will confront Inneh Queens of Benin at the Akure Township Stadium. However, chairman Osun State Football Association, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi, has expressed satisfaction and claimed he has been impressed with the level of display shown by the players of Osun Babes qualifying for the quarter final for the first time.'I told you Prime success in the male Federation Cup was not a fluke but, with the girls' feat now in the female Federation Cup it is a clear confirmation to all Nigerians that Osun State is a state to be reckoned with when it comes to football.''I want to give thanks and adoration to God, I am so happy, so elated, so excited for the girls performance, I congratulate them and I think the team can still do better, it will be tough against Sunshine Queens but, we have a capable team to do the government and good people of the State of Osun proud.
