180 schools for Lagelu U-15 relay

By Yinka Adeniran, IbadanNo fewer than 180 private and public secondary schools from Oyo and neighbouring states will feature in the third Lagelu Inter-Secondary School Relay Race competition, the organisers have said.The event slated for October 17 to 19 at the University of Ibadan Sports Complex according to the organisers is essentially a grassroots event with the objective of discovering and nurturing athletes for major national and international events.Read Also:Mutual Benefits Badminton Championship beginsEvents to be featured in the competition include 100m, 4x100m, 4x200m, 4x400m mixed race and 4100 (hurdles).Speaking at a press conference to herald the event, the General Manager (Operations), West Midland Communications, Tunde Olawuwo said the competition is a developmental avenue for young talents to be discovered.
