APC seeks probe of attack on Oshiomhole

Bolaji Ogundele, AbujaThe All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, to investigate and prosecute those behind the alleged attempt on the life of the partys National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.The party, in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, Sunday evening, also condemned the attack on Oshiomholes Benin residence on Saturday, suggesting that the attack was politically motivated and aimed at inciting violence in the state.According to the statement, although the APC leader had called for calm and instructed his followers to go about their businesses peacefully, the people of the state deserve an atmosphere that is free from intimidation and threat to their lives.The All Progressives Congress (APC) condemns Saturday evenings attack on the Benin residence of the Partys National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole by political thugs.Read Also:Oshiomole, El-Rufai, rap Atiku over US tripAlthough, the APC National Chairman has rightly called for calm after the apparent attempt on his life, we call on the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammad Adamu and other relevant security outfits to investigate the ugly incident and prosecute the sponsors and attackers.In Edo State, just as in any other state, everyone must be free to go about their normal and legitimate activities without harassment, intimidation, threat to life and property.It is clear that the sponsors of the attack are bent on causing crisis in the state in pursuit of their desperate and unpopular political interests. Human life is greater that anyones political ambition, the statement said.
