Analysts from Citi wrote earlier this year that the fines could reach as high as $9 billion.A settlement could be announced as early as next month, but the final details of the deal could change, Bloomberg reported.US regulators have been investigating the Wall Street bank's role in raising capital for the now-insolvent Malaysian investment fund between 2012 and 2013.Attorney General William Barr is overseeing the case and most of the settlement is expected to be given to the Justice Department, according to Bloomberg.Goldman is also working with Malaysian regulators to settle separate probes around the scandal.
