Rufai takes Milo talent hunt to Enugu

THE Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu was a site to behold last weekend when Super Eagles' former goalkeeper, Peter Rufai, took the second in the series of Milo Football Clinic to the coal city.As expected, over 2,000 aspiring footballers took part in the week-long football clinic, with Rufai providing the necessary ingredient in making the programme a huge success. Apart from Enugu State, the 2011 Milo Football Clinic will also visit two other key cities - Ilorin and Lagos.Since its commencement last year, the Milo football clinic has continually attracted aspiring players wishing to participate in the show. Apart from the 2,000 children registered for the clinic, thousands of others from the nooks and crannies of Enugu also thronged the clinic to witness the discovery of new and future footballers.For this year's clinic also, over 30 grassroots coaches and an expatriate, Patrick Kampeneers from Belgium, were engaged. Kampeneers has been involved in youth football development for the past 22 years. The three-day exercise re-energised the dwindling grassroots football in the state.
