Akeredolu to meet workers over strike threat

Osagie Otabor, AkureOndo Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has promised to meet with the leadership of Organised Labour in the state with a view to prevent workers from embarking on industrial action.Akeredolu, who spoke through his Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Donald Ojogo, said the issues raised by the workers were not new.The Governor stated that they were not peculiar to Ondo State, especially during this period that compelled states to undergo unpleasant economic challenges following the drastic drop in both Federation Allocation Account and Internally Generated Revenue.READ ALSO:Akeredolu tests negative as intrigues deepenHe said his administration has always considered the welfare of workers very paramount and would not play politics with his commitment to them.According to him: It is on record that as at today, Ondo State ranks among those states with a higher level of worker-friendliness among the comity of States in Nigeria.Our inherited liabilities as well as unforeseen occurrences notwithstanding, this culture of commitment shall be heightened.In this regard, Mr. Governor will meet the leadership of all such concerned bodies between Monday 13 and Wednesday 15 of July 2020. This is with a view to engendering a very robust engagement and interface.
