Keshi arrives for Eagles' job

STEPHEN Keshi yesterday arrived Lagos to take up appointment as the new Super Eagles chief coach.The former Nigerian captain who has been widely tipped to nick the job was sighted by admirers as he arrived the Murtala Mohammed Airport few minutes before 8 p.m.Earlier in the day in Abuja, 'the Big Boss' had been unanimously picked by the chieftains of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, as the new Super Eagles' coach on a N3m monthly salary.Keshi's pay will be reviewed upwards subject to a satisfactory performance after six months probation in an interim arrangement.A member of the Technical Committee of the NFF however told Tribunesports that Keshi's acceptance of the offer is still being awaited in view of the fact that he is due to earn less than Samson Siasia whose contract was terminated by the NFF last week. Siasia was on a monthly N5m salary.Otherwise, the NFF met all conditions of Keshi, especially as regards freedom to pick his assistants.The NFF, demands that Keshi qualifies Nigeria for the 2013 Africa Nations Cup and the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, flying the Eagles as far the quarter final of the Mundial.The source further informed that the Executive Committee, on getting the report from the technical arm, endorsed the details of the report while awaiting the consent of Keshi. He is said to be interested in having Sunday Oliseh as one of his assistants.
